Orange Hibiscus in Bloom

I used the flowers from a Hibiscus Bush in my best friend's garden in the Limpopo area of South Africa. The surrounding bush in that area of South Africa is very lush and thick due to the semi equatorial weather. The flowers seemed to me to have captured the sunshine and heat of the area and I just couldn't resist grabbing for my colors. Please follow the links supplied in the The Old Man's info should you wish to know a bit more about that area of South Africa. Size 46.2cm x 65.9cm (18.2 - 25.9 in). Unframed and will be sent via insured Courier Postage. Price $600

The Old Man

Old Man Something different! This gentleman belongs to the Venda Tribe in South Africa. They speak Tshivenda, a language that rolls nicely on the tongue, and is soft on the ear. He was about 70 years old when I did this picture. He lives in the mountains in Limpopo. I have found them gentle kind people with lots of respect towards their elders and each other. The following links can tell you more should you be interested... http://www.places.co.za/html/venda.html and http://www.krugerpark.co.za/africa_venda.html. Size 24.8 x 34.2cm (9.8 x 13.5 in) Unframed and will be sent via insured Courier Postage. Price $200

New Born

This baby, surely not more than an hour old, was seen in the early morning on the side of the road in the rural areas of Limpopo, South Africa. For those who don't know where that is, it is in the very top mountainous parts of South Africa. Size 46.3cm x 65cm (18.2 - 25.6 in). Unframed and will be sent via insured Courier Postage. Price $580

White Daisy

Daisies are everywhere on the sides of the road as well. On the Western Coast it sometimes looks like snow covering the ground. This is rather amazing as some of those areas are semi desert. I used this particular flower due to the bits of pollen on the leaves making it more interesting rather than just a white flower. The flower size in real life can reach up to 6cm (2.4 in), at the same time I have seen some of them in full bloom with a max size of 1cm (0.4 in) while desperately trying to survive in an area that only got a few drops of rain water!  Size of picture is 56.1 x 45cm (22.1 x 17.7 in) Unframed and will be sent via insured Courier Postage. Price $440

Yellow Cups

These flowers come in clusters of 3 or sometimes even 7 on each stem. They don’t all open at exactly the same time, allowing Capetonians a prolonged view. Variation in color due to their location is possible. Viewing a large area covered by them always gives you the impression that they are a Buttercup-Yellow. My youngest daughter studies photography and takes all the pictures of my artwork. I tried to get the correct color in the photo but according to my monitor didn't succeed. The close-up picture of the single flower is a portion of the actual work scanned to show the exact color of the flowers in picture.  Size 50 x 70cm (19.7 x 27.6 in). Unframed and will be sent via insured Courier Postage. Price $530

Pretty in Pink   NEW!!!

These flowers are most likely to make their mark on lawns and where the grass is a bit shorter than on the side of the roads. Should you happen to come across a patch where they don’t have to compete for space, the sight is amazing with their beautiful pink colour. The plant’s leaves are rather small and you can see they tried very hard to copy the leaves of a clover-plant. Sadly for them they did not succeed as they forgot to “paint” the lighter flecks in the mid section of the leaves green as well. I am including two extra photos purely for some extra beauty ….enjoy! Size 100.04 x 49.8 cm (39.4 x 19.6in). Unframed and will be sent via insured Courier Postage. Price $900
